Shorty and Mia were the first members of the Shih Zoo. Shorty and Mia were with the Zoo for almost 16 years. They were great companions for car rides, watching football, and just snuggling! We wish we could have had them for 16 more years.
Where it all started...
Our passion for breeding Shih Tzu's started with our first pair of AKC Shih Tzus, Shorty and Mia. Mia was a wonderful mother and produced 13 puppies that found their forever homes and brought joy to their new family's lives. Mia and Shorty were retired and lived to a little over 15 years. old.

Shorty loved Mia and kept close track on her. If she was gone he would be upset. He always let her know when a visitor was arriving so she could be his backup! Mia was more independent than Shorty but still relied on him for company on many adventures.
